Hospice Faces More Scrutiny

Four states Hospices will be subject to more hospice scrutiny due to fraud, waste, and abuse concerns. More monitoring was implemented by authorities for newly established hospices in Arizona, California, Nevada, and Texas. The majority of hospice care in the United States is funded by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services. They have stated that, "serious concerns about market oversaturation" and "numerous reports of hospice fraud, waste, and abuse" were the driving forces for this move."
